While the Oxford-based company was unavailable for comment at press time, Currie was quoted as saying, "I am very excited about my first trip to the British Isles, and I am looking forward to working with [DecisionSoft's] stellar development team."

Founded 6 years ago, DecisionSoft Ltd. has developed the world's most advanced XML productivity applications, running on Linux, Solaris and Windows NT.  Bucking the recent economic downturn, this .com-darling is continuing to expand.  Industry experts agree that it was this planned expansion that motivated the high-profile hiring of software development guru Currie.

The University of Waterloo, where Michael Currie will be returning in the fall of 2002 after his stint in the historic university town of Oxford, has reported that Currie will stay with DecisionSoft for approximately 16 weeks, beginning at the end of April 2002.

Whether Currie's placement as Software Developer will put DecisionSoft's IPO plans on the fast-track is uncertain; still, one industry insider who spoke on the condition of anonymity had this to say: "Having Currie on their team sure can't hurt their chances."

Currie on TV this Sunday
A four-hour filming session on Tuesday in Toronto should hopefully produce some good results. See me this Sunday at 6:30pm on TV Ontario. The show is called "VOX", and I'm in a segment called flipside.
