Michael Currie, 20, is an undergraduate at the University of Waterloo, studying mathematics, with a major in computer science and a minor in economics.

This summer, he was employed at DecisionSoft Limited, an Oxford, UK startup consultancy and XML software developer. He is now completing another four-month study term in Waterloo.

In December, Currie kicks off a month-long tour of Africa by first competing at the World Debating Championships in South Africa.

Upon his return, he is excited to be working as a software developer with special effects company Alias|Wavefront, at their offices in downtown Toronto.

Currie, an internationally award-winning political essayist, hopes that his interests - politics, business, economic development, environmental change, and technology - will contribute to a career in business and third world development.

He has also written, directed, and performed in many theatrical productions. His other interests include biking, piano, and Aikido.
